Me too! :) I went on a job interview there not that long ago.

My husband and I are thinking of going to Wilmington next spring for a long weekend.....obviously will visit Winterthur....anything else you can share? We love to visit ';walkable'; cities...does Wilmington fall into this category?

The only sections of Wilm. that I would advertise as walkable are Market Street Mall near Rodney Square (center city), along the Christiana Waterfront (restaurants, minor league ballpark %26amp; outlet shopping), the Trolley Square area (bars and restaurants) and along the Brandywine River (Zoo and parkland). The City of New Castle is our little bit of Williamsburg (museums, restaurants, shoppes and walking path/park along the Delaware River). South of Winterthur is the DE Museum of Natural History (a hidden gem). You must visit Longwood Gardens in PA if you haven%26#39;t ever been there. Please remember to pay attention to your personal safety when walking at night in the city. It%26#39;s not as bad as Philly, but please be cautious.

A few nice walkable cities I%26#39;ve been to are.... Charleston, SC, San Antonio, Texas, Cape May, NJ, London England (too far?), Virginia Beach, VA, Rehoboth Beach, DE. Any specific section of the US?

My my travel experience (2x there in Mays of %26#39;06 and %26#39;07), I wouldn%26#39;t classify the whole town as walkable, but parts are. The riverfront/boardwalk area is. An area I liked was ';Little Italy.'; While it%26#39;s not as Italian or vibrant as it once was, there are still some great eats there. Glad I stumbled into Mrs. Robino%26#39;s (my review on tripadvisor)-- nothing spectacular or fancy, but down-home, typical Italian at great prices (my normal-sized-portion spaghetti [w/salad and bread] and a coke was under $9).

Historic downtown Charleston is a wonderful (and the best, in my opinion) walkable city with much, much historical and archetectural sightseeing available. You definately must put this city on your list. You%26#39;ll love it.
