Hi, I was thinking of taking a daytrip with my wife and 10mo old son to a DE beach. I live on the border of PA/DE near Newark. I would like a place we could park and spend a few hours on the beach that%26#39;s not super crowded and is family friendly.

Pickup De Rt 1 south and follow it south. Follow the signs to Cape May Lewes Ferry . Go strtaight past the ferry terminal into Cape Henlopen State Park . No looking for parking meters there is a large lot which is covered by your admission to the park .Also there are showers and a snack bar. Go early as they do fill up on weekends.

OR, try the public beach in Lewes, just up the street from CHSP.
Your 10 mo would like the waveless beach, (actually it%26#39;s the DE bay) and parking right at the sands edge is .75/hr (vs. state park admission fee, which is $8.00 if you%26#39;re from PA).
Both places are very family friendly %26amp; have restrooms %26amp; snacks.
Would also recommend Lewes. It has the advantage of a Dairy Queen right at the beach, and some little shops and restaurants not too far away.
