I will be coming in from Newark and driving down after a night%26#39;s rest. This will be where i will be stopping and any idea which hotel is affordable, at USD200 or less a night, yet close enough to amtrak? Better still, with a rental car company?

Lenee, no places in the city under 200USD. Try the Best Western Brandywine Valley on Route 202, about 1 mile out of the city. A room is going for about 110-120 USD plus tax.
