1-week condo rental in Rehoboth Beach

Hi all,

We%26#39;re looking to rent a condo for a week at Rehoboth Beach June 16-23. Since we%26#39;re taking our 17-yr-old son and a friend of his, it%26#39;s imperative they can walk places, so right now we%26#39;re looking at possibly renting one of the units at One Virginia Avenue condos right on the boardwalk. I haven%26#39;t even looked at the availability yet, but has anyone out there stayed there? One of the reasons we%26#39;re looking there is we have extended family that will be in Rehoboth that week, staying in houses around Virigina Avenue.

Thanks in advance for any input.

While I have not stayed there specifically, you will want to get on this right away. Places in Rehoboth have a tendency to fill up before the summer starts, so I would contact them about availability as soon as you can to ensure that you have options when you choose a location.

Yep, I realize that. We just came up with the idea in the last week. I%26#39;m planning to call tomorrow while keeping my fingers crossed there%26#39;s something available!

I stayed there a year ago. Wasn%26#39;t bad. I%26#39;ll see if I can find my earlier post about it and bump it for you.

Couldn%26#39;t find where I posted about this condo earlier, so I%26#39;ll post what I can remember.

First, hopefully you will be able to get something, although I would be concerned about the quality of the unit. We initially called to reserve a two bedroom place in the fall of 2005 and was supposedly put on a list and was told to call back in January to make the reservations. She said they filled up quick. Our reservation was for the 2nd week of June. I did call back in January and was supposedly given one of the nicer 2 bedroom units.

I think we may have been spoiled by prior condo rentals that we had down in the Gulf Shores region which were less expensive, had lots of amenities and the condo itself was absolutely gorgeous. Staff was wonderful and helpful. It probably wasn%26#39;t fair to compare the two since it%26#39;s two different areas with different rental options available.

The condo was comfortable. The carpet was worn and stained and the dishwasher didn%26#39;t work. The staff was nice, but not very helpful. When out by the pool, the umbrellas were looked up in a storage bin and there was no one to get them out. When we went in to ask the front desk if someone was around who could access the umbrellas, we were told ';I don%26#39;t know'; and it was left at that. We later found out that the ONE person who could apparently do this was off for the day. They also weren%26#39;t a wealth of information when it came to asking questions about the area, places to eat, etc.

Please note that you have to take your own linens and towels. There are bedspreads/comforters on the beds, but you do need to take sheets. You need to take bath towels/cloths as well as beach towels. It%26#39;s my understanding that all condos do this back there though. This was different for us because the ones we%26#39;ve rented in Gulf Shore had a maid service who came in and changed the linens and towels. There is a company back there where you can rent this stuff, but we took our own linens, so I%26#39;m not sure about them.

As I previously stated, we had a two bedroom condo with two baths, one in the master bedroom and the main bath.

We did love the location, and we loved the balcony. Of all of the condo units located directly on the beach, it seemed to be the best choice of what is available.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
