Hello everybody,
my family and I would like to go to Rehoboth Beach for a short stay this summer, and we%26#39;re wondering if anybody knows how much does the access to the beach costs per day.
Anybody knows the Sand Palace Motel in Dewey Beach?
Thanks for your help!
Have a great summer,
Ann
cost of the beach in rehoboththere%26#39;s no charge for beach access in rehoboth or dewey. they%26#39;re totally open %26amp; free to the public.
there is a per car charge for parking at the state parks, but you wouldn%26#39;t need to go to them unless you wanted to for a hike or sight-seeing.
cost of the beach in rehobothprobably should have also said this...
if you%26#39;re staying at a hotel that has parking, no problem....
anyone coming in just for the day will have a challenge with parking, and will either need to feed meters or buy a parking permit %26amp; search for a place to park. that goes for both towns.
can%26#39;t help with motels, never stayed in any.
Hi Ann, the beach is free! You have to pay to park at the metered parking, or if you go to Dewey buy a week pass for 40 bucks. You will get tickited in Dewey without a pass to park on the street.
We stayed at the Sand Palace and had a great time...the rooms are spartan and a litttle tiny, but it is economical and just a 100 yards to the beach. We stayed there when the kids were smaller. We also stayed at the Atlantic Oceanside in Dewey and it is also econimical, and I like it better than the Sand Palace. We also stayed at the Surf Club a few times, and like it also...it is right on the beach. We are coming down in 3 weeks but this time we will be staying in Rehoboth at the Heritage Inn and Gold club...something different and a little off the beach but thats ok.
Have Fun!

Thanks everybody!
You were very helpful and good to know that the beach is free of charge ;)
We reserved our room at the Sand Palace and I%26#39;m glad to know that it%26#39;s ok.
I hope it%26#39;s clean... it really does not matter if it%26#39;s not fancy. The price is very good!
While i%26#39;m here and you are so kind... anybody can suggest me some good place to eat , either in Rehoboth or Dewey? We love buffets!
Thanks again :-)

can%26#39;t help much with restaurants, we so rarely eat out! lunch once in awhile...
but for dinner? let me just say...my birthday%26#39;s in a couple weeks, and i hope to eat out down there for the first time since my LAST birthday! LOL
for that occasion, i try to insist on ';chez la mer'; with our good friends %26amp; beach neighbors from across the street. excellent restaurant but pricey, it%26#39;s a special occasion place for us.
that said...there are a ton of restaurants in both places. you could just stroll along %26amp; see if something appeals. all price ranges, all kinds of food.
for sandwiches in the summer, i DO recommend two places on baltimore avenue, they%26#39;re right next to each other.
one is cafe sole...not cheap but very excellent sandwiches. i often get a ';turkey stuffer'; to go when i%26#39;m down there alone...i usually get lunch AND supper from one sandwich.
and right next door, if you can catch it open, is a little shack whose name i can%26#39;t recall properly....but they make po%26#39;boys..........crab cake po%26#39;boy is to die for!
Jakes is an awesome place to eat. There are two of them. One in town and one on Hiway 1. Expensive but worth it. DELICIOUS! won%26#39;t find better food in my opinion....
agree, jake%26#39;s IS good! we did have a dinner there with our neighbors once %26amp; the fish was delicious!
we visited the one out on route 1 because a friend of their%26#39;s band was playing that night. had an excellent time %26amp; a great dinner.
Not many reasonably priced buffets...you may be better off to head to Ocean City MD for one (Embers, Bonfire, etc.)
The Rusty Rudder in Dewey has a decent seafood buffet on weekends but it%26#39;s nearly $30.00 pp (not worth it IMO). Victorias on the Boards in Rehoboth has a Sunday brunch buffet (good but $$$).
For the budget minded (or just plain cheapos!) I would suggest the Panda Chinese buffet in the Rehoboth Mall...an unbelievable deal at just $8.50 pp ($11.50 to add AYCE crablegs). I always start with a plate of peel %26amp; eat shrimp %26amp; have already gotten my money%26#39;s worth before I start on the main course!
Thanks again everybody! It looks like there are not inexpensive restaurant in that area so we%26#39;ll try the ones you suggested
... we%26#39;re in vacation after all! At least we are sure they are worth the money ;-)
Thank you all and have a great summer.
Ann
