Hi,
I will visit the museum in April. What about having lunch at the cafeteria? How is food there? Or should I better go to a nearby
place, but if so, which one would be fine?
Thanks and greetings,

Winterthur museum question
Quiltlover,
I assume you%26#39;re coming for the quilt exhibit? It looks like it will be wonderful. And don%26#39;t miss the permanent Soup Tureen exhibit. (I know, it sounds ridiculous, but they truly are beautiful!) If it%26#39;s nice weather, get off the jitney tour and take some time to explore the Enchanted Woods. It%26#39;s a joy for kids of all ages. You may be here while the azaleas are in bloom -- spectacular!
Winterthur%26#39;s cafeteria is surprisingly good! You%26#39;ll have a choice of a hot meal, a salad bar, or sandwiches. All are just fine. If you%26#39;re lucky, and it%26#39;s warm, you can eat outside on the terrace -- a truly lovely experience.
If you want to venture beyond Winterthur, Buckley%26#39;s Tavern just north on Route 52 is a famous landmark. I don%26#39;t think the food is that great, but it is very popular. The menu cover shows a pickup truck parked next to a Rolls Royce, and that%26#39;s the kind of place it has always been -- the locals gather there, regardless of economic status.
Hope you enjoy your visit to this part of the U.S. I%26#39;ve seen some of your other posts, and I can tell you%26#39;ll have a wonderful visit -- you%26#39;ve certainly been doing your homework!
I live in the Brandywine Valley, so would be happy to help with info on other locations here.
Winterthur museum question
Dear wythany,
thank you very much for your help. Salads and sandwiches
are just fine for lunch!! Yes, we are coming for the quilt event
to the Winterthur museum and we will have a guided tour
with informations about history etc. of special quilts. I can´t wait to come! Of course I hope for great weather, too, to enjoy the famous garden.
TA is a great forum for me to plan a trip as perfect as I can and I´ve
found so many helpers here! Thanks again,w.
Greetings from Germany, Q.
The cafeteria is great! ALso, has views of the duck pond. You can%26#39;t see all of Winterthur in the two days your ticket is good for, so pick %26amp; choose carefully. Know what you want to see before you get in line. Also, Buckleys gives you 1/2 off your bill at Sunday brunch if you go in your jammies.
