Where to stay?

We want to give Rehoboth Beach a shot this spring, but conflicting reviews have me confused! I need a good bet for a decent, family friendly hotel/motel ON THE BEACH, in Rehoboth from someone who is a frequent visitor. Thank you!

Where to stay?

Hi Kitty

Dewey/Rehoboth are very much taste dependant on the guest. What will your budget be is the first thing to determine, and then go from there. We usually stay at the Surf Club in Dewey, for about $175/night. It is right on the beach. The rooms are actually 2 room studio condo%26#39;s individually owned. double bed is a pull down, sofa opens into bed, and there is a bed that doubles as a window seat during the day. We like it here alot. If you are used to spending and getting the amenities of a $300/night room, this may not be to your taste.

Have fun and let me know if I can be of any help, as we have stayed at a bunch of places there and in Rehoboth!

Where to stay?

Hello Kitty -

The Boardwalk Plaza and the Atlantic Sands are the only two hotels right on the beach in Rehoboth Beach. The Boardwalk Plaza is lovely, top notch and I%26#39;m sure you can get some decent prices in the spring months. The season doesn%26#39;t usually begin until later in the spring and into May and June.

Dewey might be an option - but I am not sure that all locations are open year round. Also, some of the hotels have recently converted into condos.

You might want to check wtih the local chamber of commerce - 800-441-1329 - for a complete listing of what is open the time of year you are thinking of coming and what might fall into your price range. They are a great source of information about the area.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy your visit - the spring is a fun time to come (weather permitting) as it isn%26#39;t as crowded and crazy as the full on summer season! Also check with the chamber on upcoming events - for instance, I know there is a big kite festival at Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes DE that the kids would probably enjoy on Good Friday this year.

Thank you both--great information. We are looking forward to our first stay in Rehoboth.

I would also recommend the Beach View Motel; it is spitting distance to the beach and next door to Funland.
