Brandywine for a weekend

My husband and I and our 2yr. son will be staying in the Brandywine area between Nov. 9th through the 11th. Does anyone know of any festivals or local craft fairs that may be going on?

What would be the nicest areas for us to visit?

Brandywine for a weekend

Hope you can make time for a visit to Longwood Gardens, which just debuted their totally remodeled Childrens%26#39; Garden a couple weeks ago. Lots of water and other features to amuse the young ones, and adults will appreciate it on a whole different level. Your timing is great -- this Sat. and Sun. there will be appearances by ';rainforest creatures'; in the garden: longwoodgardens.org/RainforestCreatures.html. We saw them at the opening and they%26#39;re amazing! If the weather%26#39;s good, you can spend several hours at Longwood, indoors and out.

You%26#39;re kindof betwixt and between festivals in this area. Fall stuff is mostly over, %26#39;cause it%26#39;s getting cold, and Christmas festivals are a few weeks away. You might find some ideas here:

www.phillyfunguide.com/search.php?page=1 Most events are in Philly (about 45 min. away) but some are closer to Brandywine Valley. E.g., Breakfast with Santa, at Granite Run Mall, isn%26#39;t too far. Philly Craft Show is renowned, but an adult-oriented activity.

Delaware Museum of Natural History, on Route 52 in DE near the PA state line, is a lot of fun for kids.

Hope you enjoy your visit.
