Which Delaware beach town to visit??

I am planning a trip for this summer and would like to stop at one of the Delaware shore communties for 2 or 3 nights. Which one should I choose? I have looked at places like Rehobeth Beach, Lewes, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, etc

Which Delaware beach town to visit??

So much depends on the demographic makeup of your traveling party and what you%26#39;re looking for on vacation. So, to unfairly generalize each location in a few words (noting that there are exceptions in each town).

Rehoboth/Lewes--Family oriented, lots of amusements, waterparks, excellent outlet shopping. You%26#39;ll also find Rehoboth draws substantial gay/lesbian patronage.

Dewey Beach: Largely caters to post-college, shared group house twenty-something singles party crowd.

Bethany Beach: Peaceful and quiet, not much to do beyond the beach itself and some good restaurants. Finding activities for kids off the beach might prove to be a challenge.

Fenwick Island: Fenwick itself is fairly quiet and family oriented, but one attraction is its proximity to Ocean City, MD (right across the state line), where you%26#39;ll find plenty of family-oriented amusements, waterparks, etc...plus plenty of bars for the adults.

Keep in mind that to travel from the northern end of the beaches (Lewes) to the southern end (Fenwick) is only about 35 minutes, so if after arriving you feel you%26#39;ve made the wrong choice, you%26#39;ll find it fairly easy to spend some time in the other towns to see what you%26#39;re missing.
