My family (three kids, 15,12, and 7) is looking for a place to stay for about 4 days (June 15-19) in mid June, after spending about a week in DC and before a few days in NYC. In past years, we%26#39;ve rented homes in North Carolina on the beach and loved it.
Other than the conflciting ';family-oriented'; comments that have been posted here before
It seems like there aren%26#39;t many home renting opportunities for less than a week (and arriving on a Thursday) unless we stay in a ';beehive';
I noted someone else%26#39;s post about bug spray.
Beach mini-week in Delaware or Maryland
Sorry - stopped to register and didn%26#39;t realize it would post what I hadn%26#39;t finished:
What%26#39;s the differences among the MD and DE beaches?
Can we get a long weekend through the realtors that isn%26#39;t a condo in a huge building or like a hotel?
Are the bugs a problem if you%26#39;re on Oceanfront?
Beach mini-week in Delaware or Maryland
I%26#39;ve stayed ocean front a number of times and never had a problem with bugs. As for renting for less than a week, good luck. They dont seem to like to do that anymore.
The biggest difference between the two beaches is literally the size of the beach. DE is have a lot of problems with erosion and recently spent a ga-zillion dollars druging sand to make the beach, specifically R.B., bigger. OC beach is about 3 times the size.
Your kids would def. have a better time staying in Ocean City, MD (lots of stuff to do, ext. large boardwalk with arcades, mini-golf, shopping, volleyball, etc). You would probably have the best time in Bethany (quiet, relaxing, crowded but not overly crowded).
Try calling Seacoast Realty. They are the largest rental company in Bethany and can probably help you. You can reach them at 800-634-3400.
Thanks for the feedback follks. We opted for the Jersey shore instead.

Just curious, Denver Dad...where are you headed?
