We are leaving Jersey on Tuesday for Williamsburg. Not sure about what time we are leaving.
What is a better route 95 or take the ferry, and if 95 is there a way to miss dc traffic.
Thank you

Which type of trip would you prefer? Doing the ferry follow traffic out to Del 1 turn left. Turn Rt at McDonalds (RT24). Follow 24 to 113 in Millsboro . Turn left follow 113 into 13 south .Cross the Bay Bridge Tunnel and follow signs. This is a laid back trip . Plenty of opportunity to eat ,stop and whatever .A few traffic lights and speed limits inthe towns. The stop in the middle of the Bay Bridge Tunnel in kind of neat.
95 is 95 how would you rather go?

Not sure where you are in Jersey but the ferry + Bay bridge/tunnel is probably the most direct %26amp; scenic route (even though you are a little south of your destination when you get to Norfolk/Hampton Roads). However, the ferry will cost you maybe $40. each way %26amp; the bridge/tunnel another $12. (together, the price of overnight lodging!) Also, the tunnels are pretty tight and some people get white knuckles!
Another option would be to cut across northern DE/MD %26amp; cross the Bay Bridge. Take a look at Rt. 301 on a map...this would avoid Baltimore %26amp; most of the DC traffic %26amp; the southern stretch is a very scenic %26amp; traffic-free route. You would actually not be on 95 much at all (a good thing IMO).
