What%26#39;s the best hotel/motel to stay at in Dewey Beach - walking distance to bars and near beach? Need a room that will comfortably accomodate 4 adults?
Thanks
Best Hotel/Motel in Dewey Beach?
CaboGirl,
Dewey is about a mile long, and only two blocks wide in most places, so virtually everything is within walking distance, no matter where you%26#39;re staying. You can park once and walk everywhere in town.
We have a condo there, so I%26#39;ve never stayed in a motel. I would have guessed Marina Suites would be the ';best,'; because it%26#39;s by far the newest, but several others are rated higher here on TripAdvisor. Marina Suites is on the bay. The two oceanfront motels are Atlantic View and Adams Oceanfront. Of those, Adams is closer to the Bottle %26amp; Cork and Ruddertowne, the major (but not the only) bars. The motels with a ';Highway One'; address are probably a little noisier, since they%26#39;re on the only road through town.
Here%26#39;s a site that has links for Dewey motels:

Best Hotel/Motel in Dewey Beach?
Thanks for the info. I%26#39;ve found out that Marina Suites are being converted to condos..
any other thoughts? I%26#39;m having trouble finding one that has queen beds..
CaboGirl,
I knew Marina Suites was converting, didn%26#39;t realize they%26#39;d stopped renting rooms -- sorry! Several other motels in Dewey are converting to condos, so it may be harder to find a place for a few days. (I%26#39;m assuming your stay will be shorter than a week.)
Are you coming for a weekend, or during the week? There are a lot of condos with at least 2 BR, often 4, that rent from Sunday evening through Friday evening, because they are ';group rental houses'; for the season for weekends. The condo next to ours does that, I know.
I%26#39;m not sure how you find them. I know the owner next to us advertises in the Washington Post occasionally, but I think a lot of it is word of mouth. You might try rental agents in Rehoboth, but my impression has always been that they list weekly rentals, not partial weeks -- could be wrong, though.
If you end up having to rent in Rehoboth, which has more options, there is a trolley that runs between Rehoboth and Dewey so you could catch a ride back to Rehoboth (just a couple miles away) without having to worry about driving after an evening at the bars. http://www.jollytrolley.com/map.html
